About the event
Both aesthetically pleasing and incredibly sturdy, these sketchbooks have the advantage of being able to open completely flat so you can utilize the entire page to sketch. This binding is held together with the Coptic stitch sewing–no adhesives needed! This workshop will provide an excellent foundation for anyone new to book arts, including basic binding tools and vocabulary. Participants will come away with basic skills in preparing paper (determining paper grain and cutting paper), the sewing process, and making hardcovers. Participants are welcome to bring a specific paper for their book covers, like marbled paper, or folks can choose from a variety of decorative and my handmade papers available.
The suggested price is $55 and we welcome you to consider a greater tax deductible donation to 1:11 that can be given in house at the event through Venmo, check or cash.
